Bromyard is a very special place all year round but never more so than at Christmas when the main streets are festooned with strings of lights for the town’s fabled Christmas Illuminations, reputed to be the best display in Herefordshire.
The Big Switch-On of Bromyard’s annual ‘Christmas Lights’, accompanied as always by a busy day of Yuletide events, is scheduled for Saturday 24th November 2012 at 5.00 pm.
‘Last year’s switch-on attracted around 2000 people to the town centre’, said a spokesman. ‘Crowds can visit several local Christmas Fairs, enjoy the arrival of Father Christmas in his sleigh, and visit him at home in his Grotto where children receive a Christmas gift’.
This website tells you how and when the lights started; introduces the “Light Brigade”, our band of volunteers who make this event a reality, and explains how to get in touch if you want to know more.
